HERITAGE MEETS MODERNITY
THE WHOO honors traditional Korean herbal medicine and elevates it with future-forward skincare research. Our science-backed formulas are modern reinterpretations of beauty rituals performed by the royal family during the Joseon Dynasty (circa 1392-1897). During this era of Korean history, beauty standards and aesthetic trends also shifted from before. The preference arose for a natural radiant complexion from a vibrant and flawless style.
-
PAST MEETS FUTURE
The Joseon era marked not only Korea’s last and longest dynasty but also the foundation for traditional and modern Korean culture. During this pivotal time in Korean history, several now-revered skincare ingredients, like ginseng, licorice root, and thyme, were initially used for health benefits. Today, we carefully harvest these powerful plants in our Beauty Botanic Garden and combine them with contemporary skincare ingredients, like NAD, arginine, and ceramides, to bring you luxurious, time-honored formulas.
-
RELICS MEETS SCIENCE
Every single one of our luxurious skincare formulas is developed in-house at THE WHOO Royal Beauty Research Center. We continuously explore ancient Korean literature to find prized herbal remedies. Then, we blend their ancient wisdom with modern science and technology.

OUR SIGNATURE SKINCARE SOLUTION
THE WHOO Royal Beauty Research Center developed our exclusive herbal complex the Gong Jin Solution™ based on extensive research on the Gongjindan Prescription. Also known as the Emperor’s Medicine, this centuries-old restorative herbal remedy was only offered to kings during the Joseon Dynasty to help relieve fatigue, treat low blood pressure, and strengthen their immune systems.
Our Gong Jin Solution™ harnesses the revitalizing power of Gongjindan with efficacious formulas designed to care for the skin from within and help amplify its elasticity and radiance.

ESTABLISHED IN 2003
Derived from The History of Whoo in Korea, our brand name originates from the Chinese character 后 (Whoo), which translates to Empress or Queen. After all, your skin deserves nothing less than the indulgent care traditionally bestowed upon royalty.
